In Brazilian favelas, the way the police and the army work hurts innocent people. According to data released by the Brazilian Public Safety Forum, the number of civilians killed by police rose from 5,179 in 2017 to the record of 6,220 in 2018. Locals are trapped between police and narcos and they have no one to go to.

Also in that country, Bossa Nova, one of the most emblematic musical movement from the 60's, reported political issues between the lines but not everyone notices it.

 

Google & H_M_C_T will empower people from Brazilian favelas by rewriting a song with

their personal stories.

We will bring Bossa Nova back to life to help locals speak out against violence and corruption, while using typography posters to tell the world the stories of people without a voice.
